Description:
Barn name – Wrangler (“Wrangles”)
Wrangler has great conformation he's built very correct, balanced, and builds muscle quickly. He’s got big shoulders, a strong hip, and a beautiful, long, thick tail. He’s strong, not prone to soreness, and has never had any issues with his back or feet. Teeth and vaccinations are all up to date. he’s never had any notable injuries with me. He sweats well in the summer and isn’t prone to colic or other issues with temperature changes.
I purchased him from Randy Rist in Arizona (breeder of Blazin Jetolena). He was originally bred for Randy’s wife, an NFR qualifier, as one of the last horses he produced in his career. Wrangler is a true point-and-shoot horse when he’s in front of the pattern, but he knows the difference between work and competition, he will not take off at barrels when at home. After I bought him, he went for a short tune-up in 2023 with Tricia Aldridge, and I’ve been the only rider since.
He lunges, stands well in cross-ties or tied in the hallway, and loads like a dream. He’s genuinely excited to get on the trailer and loves going places. I’ve hauled him all over, including out of state. He’s run in all types of pens; big, small, good, and bad ground and he has seen it all: pro rodeos, junior rodeos, super shows, jackpots big and small. He knows the poles and has MAJOR breakaway potential.
He runs 2D in Texas, and I believe he could improve with a stronger rider. I’m confident he could easily clock 1D times in states like California or Arizona. I’ve won many buckles and checks with him, almost every run we bring home some kind of payout. He’s not a barrel hitter; in over two years of consistent runs, we’ve only ever hit two barrels, both due to rider error. Wrangler is exceptionally smart and does everything in his power to stay clean. He has an automatic lead change in the pattern, isn’t a push-style horse but responds well to light guidance, and is soft in the bit.
He can run cold or after a short warm-up and is very respectful in the warm-up pen. I’ve run him on Lasix a few times, but I feel he performs much better without it. No alleyway problems, he’s never refused and always trots in calmly.
I love this horse with all my heart and will be very selective about where he goes. Wrangler needs a competitive rider to get him legged up for the 2026 season. He’s best suited for an experienced, confident and competitive rider (14+ years old) who can handle a horse with plenty of go and heart. He truly loves his job and thrives when he has one.
He's perfect for a rider with goals looking for a partner not a pet. He’s a great step-up horse for someone ready to learn and adapt to his style. Wrangler taught me how to run and he was an incredible teacher. The better I rode, the faster he got, and he always took care of me. He will only run as fast as you can ride him — he’s not the kind to give a 4D rider a 2D time.
I’m heartbroken to be selling him, but as a college student working two jobs, I can’t give him the time he deserves. With his track record and potential, he deserves to keep competing. I also don’t currently have access to a proper facility to leg him back up.
If you give him the time and love, he’ll be your best friend and do everything he can to make your dreams come true. I want to see him go to an experienced rodeo home that will help him reach his full potential.
