Looking for a prospect on a budget? Leo is your ticket. He has a slow start no fault of his own. He is now in training with Belus Horse Training and making good progress. He had a few rides before going to the trainer, but wouldn't say he was really “started". He will stay in training until the end of February to complete his 90 days. After he completes his 90 days, he should be ready to start on the barrel pattern. His owner would like to get him moved before he comes home as she is very busy with a new career and won't have the time he needs to be finished.

Leo is bred to run barrels but could be a good breakaway prospect as well.

We do recommend at least a confident intermediate rider for Leo, he is testy and will take advantage of timid handlers and riders.

He loads and hauls well considering he hasn't been much, stands for the farrier, good for vet work. He does need his teeth done every 6 months as he had a tooth grow in incorrectly and needed it surgically removed (surgery done summer of 2025). He is up to date on vaccines, dental and farrier work (barefoot, never been shod).
